1.
This is Steve. (That's him there - "Hello Mum!")
This is
Steve's 'web
face', actually - a nice, smiley face of a man with dreadlocks. (Steve has
a few websites out there, and this is the face he puts on them.)
2.
But Steve used to look like this (the image on the left)...
Hair all
flat and microphone-head like!
(I have no idea why Steve's smiling so much,
with a hairdo like that!)
3. And now he looks like
this (can you believe!)...
4.
And all because Steve 'decided' to not cut (or brush) his hair for 5 years!
5.
So Steve wants to cut his hair, for the first time in 5 years!
And,
yes, he could just cut his dreads shorter - cut, snip, chop - and have done with
it! But where's the fun in that? Eh! So he decided to cut his hair for charity.
And it just so happens that his friend - hello Emilie! - works for a great and
worthy charity called The
Railway Children. ("Railway Children works to prevent the abuse of children
and young people living alone on the streets in the UK, East Africa and India."
)
6. And ALL YOU HAVE TO DO is make a small donation! :-) I promise
it won't hurt!
And once I've raised the modest sum of £1000 I'll
get my dreadlocks cut off. Promise. (Or when my next birthday arrives - which
is May 2nd, 2009.) I'll even get someone to take a video and put it onto YouTube.
Well it's better than watching all those professional BBC vids isn't it! And that
Susan Boyle singer. Isn't it?
7. NOTE: Steve likes his dreadlocks,
but they're just too long!
They slow him down when he runs races for
Holmfirth Harriers and such like. So Steve just wants to cut his dreadlocks shorter!
And he thought this would be a fun way of doing so. So...
